The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office business office and Civil Division consist of eight civilian employees, and two uniformed deputies. The business office issued 14,000 plus pistol permits in 2014. Other services handled by the business office include:

Perform civil paper executions, including local, out-of-county, as well as out-of-state civil papers. Also, the division keeps records of incoming and outgoing civil papers and bank accounts of collections that are made by our office.

Removal of prisoners

Oversee voter elections.

Assist in the fingerprinting of children in local schools, both public and private.

Engage in the mailing of hundreds of criminal subpoenas yearly.

Evictions.

The business hours are 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
