The Tuscaloosa County School System consists of (34) thirty-four schools. The Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers serve all of these schools. They are responsible for maintaining order within their assigned schools and enforcing applicable state laws. They are trained first responders in the event of an emergency. They also teach classes such as Gang Awareness, Anti-DUI, and Anti-Smoking. The unit is supervised by Sgt. Jennifer Jackson.
